Collage Class

Artists will be taught the basics of paper crafting and found object art as they understand

the materials, processes and skills needed to create a dimensional collage. Using a clothespin and pre-cut paper shapes, along with shapes they cut themselves, artists will construct a butterfly and foliage through layering and elevation.

Color and value will also be discussed as artists make color choices and experiment with layers. Each artist will be given, paper, newspaper, a clothespin, and buttons (optional), and an 8” x 8” frame to display their art.

Paint, marker, crayon and colored pencil are also options for decorating depending on the comfort level of the artist. Paint sponge, scissors, hole punch, craft punches, glue stick, glue gun, and Modge Podge are the tools/materials used in this project.
